The 2022-2023 fencing season has officially arrived. With the new season, comes new executive members, tournaments, and opportunities for growth as a division. Here are a few notes moving into the competitive year:
- We would like to welcome Justin Campbell (Clemson University) and Ian Rickman (Columbia, SC) as new members of the executive committee. You can find a full list of officers and at-large members by clicking the officers tab.
- Be sure to update your USA Fencing membership if you plan to fence or compete during the 2022-2023 fencing season. You can learn more about the different types of USAF memberships here.
- We ask that clubs in the state give the division at least a 6 week notice when sanctioning tournaments in the new season. You can see a list of sanctioned tournaments in the state by clicking the calendar tab.
- The rating system for referees has changed for the new fencing season, and referee age requirements for national events has changed as well. To learn more about these changes, click here.
We are as motivated as ever to make this season a great season as a division. If anyone has any questions moving forward, feel free to contact Austin Maxwell, Chair of the SC Division at foothillsfencingacademy@gmail.com.
